Summer 2010
| | | Very well done to our Sixth Year Art students who have been accepted into several Art Colleges this year including Dun Laoighre College of Art and NCAD. Their success has been largely due to Ms Pedersen’s hard work and dedication in our after school Portfolio Preparation Course. Well done to everyone.
Congratulations also to Abby Connelly (First Year) who recently received a special Certificate of Commendation from the Texaco Children’s Art Competition. There were over 30,000 entries in this year’s competition and Abby’s artwork was selected for special commendation by a panel of eminent judges representing several prestigious art colleges, galleries and museums from around Ireland. This is a fantastic achievement and we are all very proud of Abby.
Well done to the First Year students who helped Ms Cassidy with the painting of the fabulous signs advertising The Spring Fair and The Official Opening of The Spórtlann and AstroTurf this term which were located at the school’s entrance. Their wonderfully colourful creations were very much appreciated by everyone. Special thanks also to the TY team (led by Katie Veale, 4O), who created the wonderful decorative tree which was hung inside the Spórtlann on the occasion of The Official Opening on May 7th. The roots, trunk and leaves imaginatively represented some of those who contributed to the building of our magnificent Sports Hall and AstroTurf pitch.
Thank you also to the TY students for their hard work in helping to prepare the various displays for The Spring Fair. Everything looked fantastic on the day. A sincere thanks to everyone who helped.
Particular thanks also to all of the students who generously donated paintings, prints and ceramic pieces to the Art Auction which was part of the Spring Fair. Your work was greatly admired by everyone involved in the Fair and we very much appreciate your generosity.

Congratulations to all of the Art students in Santa Sabina on all of the wonderful work that they have created this year. In particular, Ms Cassidy and Ms Foster would like to congratulate their 3rd and 6th Year students on the high standard of their project work and exam pieces. The Art teachers are confident that all of the long hours and dedication the girls have put into their work this year will be reflected in their results at the end of the summer. | | | | Click below for photo slide show of masks | | | | | | | | | | Click here to read about recent Art Trips and view photos |
