| The year started with a trip to the National Concert Hall on 18th October 2011 where 6th Year Music students attended a performance of one of their prescribed LC Set works, Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky. The hall was filled to capacity with Leaving Certificate students from all over Ireland, so needless-to-say the atmosphere was brilliant! The students now have a greater appreciation and understanding of the music following the live performance.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in our first Santa Sabina’s Got Talent on Friday 25th November! The talent was amazing and the judges were very impressed. Well done to everyone who took part and to the overall winner, Erica Smith.
The special choir, Canteremo, have been busy all year. They performed at our Carol Service in December and again for the 6th Year Graduation Mass in May. The choir is currently working on material for a CD which we hope to record next year (fingers crossed!). New members will be welcome in September. Don’t be afraid to join. We rehearse every Wednesday after school from 3pm – 4pm.
Well done to everyone for the wonderful results you received in your instrumental and voice Grade Exams this year. Finally, I bid a fond farewell to all my 6th year Music students and wish them all the very best of luck in their exams and in their future careers.
