The School Centenary, 2012
        
Santa Sabina will celebrate the centenary of the foundation of the school in 2012. Preparations are ongoing in marking this historic event. Details of special events and activities will be announced to the School Community in the coming months.

School Masses and The Christmas Carol Service
        
Santa Sabina’s staff and students joined the congregation in St Fintan’s Parish Church on Friday, 2nd September for its annual New School Year Mass together with a special Mass in November in honour of the Holy Souls. The School Community also attended the School Christmas Carol Service in the church on 15th December.

Halloween Fancy Dress Day
        
Everyone in Santa Sabina enjoyed a wonderful, fun filled, Fancy Dress Non-Uniform Day on October 28th, marking the start of the Halloween mid-term break.

Christmas Fancy Dress Day and Fundraising Update
        
Staff and students enjoyed another Fancy Dress Day on December 22nd in support of fundraising efforts for the new AstroTurf pitch, signalling the start of the Christmas Holidays.

Transition Year News: Autumn – Winter 2011
        
Congratulations to our Fourth Years on a wonderful start to the year. The students are busy with a number of exciting projects and everyone really enjoyed all of the activities during a fantastic trip to Achill earlier this term. The Community Outreach Initiative also proved to be an extremely rewarding experience.

Autumn 2011 Art Trips
        
Senior students have enjoyed several visits to places of historic and cultural interest this term including The Casino in Marino, Castletown House, The Sculpture in Context Exhibition in The Botanic Gardens and The Art Books of Henri Matisse Exhibition in The Chester Beatty Library.

Music Trip to The NCH and Santa Sabina’s Got Talent!
        
Sixth Year Music students enjoyed a trip to the National Concert Hall in October where they attended a concert of Romeo and Juliet: a fantasy Overture.

On the 8th November Third Year students attended ‘Shakespeare Sessions’ in The Helix Theatre in DCU where they enjoyed a wonderful revisionist production of Romeo and Juliet by Cyclone Theatre Company.

In October Fifth Year students enjoyed a presentation from BodyWhys on eating disorders and First Year students took part in a workshop on cyberbullying by BUZZWORX Theatre Company in November.

2E are working hard on their Junior Cert Action Project which is inspired by the work of The Simon Community and 3S welcomed a speaker from The DSPCA on Tuesday 18th October as part of their Junior Cert Action Project.

Tomi Reichental Visits Santa Sabina
      
On the 22nd November, Sixth Year students and teachers gathered together to listen to Tomi Reichental, a survivor of the Holocaust, speak about his experiences at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp during World War II.
