Junior Debaters have been very busy already this year! See above some of our students competing at their second round of the Junior Schools debating competition in UCD, which saw them tackle tricky topics such as the rapid growth of AI and the introduction of congestion charges in major cities. This competition is the largest of its kind in Europe and we are hoping to improve further on last year's achievement of reaching the top 8 teams in the country.
Students also recently competed in the first round of the National Mace Debates, with our teams and individuals receiving high scores from the adjudicators across the board. Our debate team as always act as wonderful representatives for our school community and we are very proud of them.
If you have any interest in getting involved or even just seeing what the fuss is all about, the Junior team meets on Mondays in Room 16 after school with Ms.Ward while the Senior team meets on Wednesdays in Room 16 with Mr. Murphy.
A big thank you also to parents and guardians acting as taxi drivers for these events - we wouldn't be able to do these without you!
