Well done to all Santa Sabina students who participated in the Leinster Schools Cross Country Final on Wednesday 12th February 2025.
In the Minor Race, out of a field of 114 students, Carragh Nig Fhloinn ran a very strong race into 13th position. The top 15 finishers in the race qualify for the All-Ireland Final. Well done to Carragh on qualifying for the All-Ireland Final!
In the Junior Race, out of a field of 97 students, Kate Gill placed in 39th position, Anna Mulvaney placed in 34th position, Elise Goodwin battled into 13th position and Beth Reamsbottom stormed home in 2nd position. Ella Vogelaar, Caralyn Moran & Amelie Bradley also ran very strongly for the Junior Team. The Junior Team secured the 1st Team place overall and bring home the Leinster Schools Cross Country Team Gold Medal for Santa Sabina. It was a fantastic all round performance by the Santa Sabina team and we wish them the best of luck in the All-Ireland Final! Also well done to Elise for her top 15 finish and well done to Beth for bringing home the individual silver medal for Santa Sabina.
Santa Sabina was also represented in the Inter Race by Meabh Mulvaney. In a very competitive field of 69 students, Meabh ran a very strong race into 39th position. Meabh is a very dedicated & hard working athlete and we salute her for a great season on the Cross Country circuit.
Also a big thank you to our great cross country coach, Eugene O' Neill. Eugene has brought lots of fresh ideas & fun to the training sessions and we appreciate his ongoing work with the team.
The qualifying students now look forward to the All-Ireland Cross Country Final which will take place on Saturday 8th March at Galway Racecourse, Galway. Best of luck to all Santa Sabina students who will be running in that event.
