The TY students entered the first ever TY Tag Rugby Blitz on Thursday 26th April. 51 students traveled to UCD and they were split into 4 teams. All students did remarkably well in their group stages and improved their tag skills as the day went on. One team went onto to in the semi final and then beat Mount Anville in the final on a scoreline of 4-3. It was an excellent game and both teams were praised by all ITRA officials spectating. The girls received a perpetual cup which will be returned for next years competition.
In the afternoon, Santa Sabina joined St. Fintans High School for the mixed competition. With 8 teams, both schools were well represented. Again, great skill was shown and the girls contributed massively to their teams success in the group stages. One team, having progressed from the group stages in 2nd place, went on to win the Bowl Final and will share the cup with St. Fintans.
A great day was had by all and the TY students now look forward to more sport with St. Fintans as they start their Ultimate Frisbee league next week.
